About Barbara
Barbara Tobler Valente is an award-winning singer songwriter based in San Diego, Southern California.
With over 25 years’ of experience in the music industry, and a Masters degree in vocal performance and pedagogy, Barbara has the skills, and knowledge to help others find their own powerful voice, from the comfort of their own homes, or Barbara’s private studio. Barbara Tobler is a versatile and experienced singer known for singing in different languages and styles, including but not limited too; Classical, Jazz, Blues, Broadway, Pop, Rock and Opera.
After winning the Austrian American Society Vocal Competition, she went on to sing in well-known opera houses in Italy and Germany, eventually landing in Switzerland, where she was under contract with the St. Gallen Opera for four years. Upon returning to the United States, Barbara continued to sing lead roles in opera and musical theater.
Barbara then went on to perform for corporate entertainment companies, where she co-created the show comprised of four fabulous sopranos, and toured in her French song-inspired cabaret show, Chant du Coeur. Always inspired, Barbara then formed a trio called Lyriphon, featuring two virtuosic Brazilian guitarists bringing poetic lyricism and technical excellence to classical and popular songs.
Her latest two creative projects include being the lead singer of the psychedelic blues-rock band Crimson Coil, where she pays tribute to iconic female vocalists of the late 1960s to the present day and where she writes original songs. And then Barbara also portrays Stevie Nicks in the popular tribute band Fleetwood MAX!
In addition to her continued successful singing career, Barbara has established herself as a sought-after vocal coach in San Diego and the surrounding areas. She has a studio in San Diego, California.
