Barbara Tobler is a versatile, dynamic singer and performer who is known for her ability to sing in different styles and languages including classical, pop, broadway, jazz, blues, and rock.  Barbara found her roots in opera after winning the Austrian American Society Vocal Competition, which sent her to live and study at the prestigious Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.  From there, she enjoyed a successful career performing in opera houses around the world.  Barbara returned to the United States to complete her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance while continuing her performance career.  She went on to become a college professor and began her private studio where she explored and expanded her interests into other genres and styles of music.  Currently, Barbara can be seen and heard performing with the trio, Lyriphon, and the band, Crimson Coil.

With over 25 years of experience in teaching the technique of singing, Barbara maintains two San Diego based studios in downtown and Carlsbad.  Barbara is a widely sought-after vocal coach earning her top recognition on sites like Expertise.com as one of San Diego’s Best Voice Teachers. She takes great joy in working with pre-teens, teens, and adults alike in private voice lessons, helping her students to find the true beauty and power of their natural singing or speaking voice.  With Barbara’s honest and personalized attention, she has seen her students go on to win singing competitions and earn scholarships to prestigious music schools such as Juilliard, New England Conservatory, and Northwestern University.  Barbara has taken students with no prior singing lessons and has launched them on their own successful singing journeys.
